Job description

As part of the Insight (data, CRO and tracking) department, you’ll be joining an award-winning team in a varied and challenging role, using your development skillset to support digital marketing campaigns for a wide variety of clients, as well as leading development of our own SaaS platforms.

 

As a “full-stack” developer with experience developing front-end experiences as well as robust platforms, you’ll support the business in several key areas, and you’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership of your own projects. As Further does not build full websites for clients, this role is ideal for a candidate looking for a broad and varied remit.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Ownership of tracking technology implementation for client campaigns, including advanced Google Analytics setups, heat/click tracking and CRO testing platforms. This will typically involve scoping and providing implementation guidance to clients’ development teams, and/or deploying tracking solutions via Google Tag Manager
     
  • To deploy conversion rate experiments using platforms including Optimizely and Convert.com, using your experience with HTML, CSS and jQuery to adapt client websites in order to A/B test potential UX improvements.
     
  • To be involved in the scoping, briefing and/or build  of content assets for client’s digital marketing campaigns. An example might be an interactive infographic built with jQuery, HTML5 and CSS.
     
  • To scope, build and maintain tools and platforms using PHP, MySQL and other suitable technologies to improve efficiency and contribute to Further’s offering to clients. For example, a tool that gathers data from the Google Analytics API then allows account strategists to model future campaign performance with a variety of inputs. The opportunity to lead development of a SaaS product that the agency takes to market.
     
  • To represent Further by producing blog posts, editorial content and contributing to company social media profiles.

 

Skill Requirements

  • Back-end development knowledge, including ability to write code that queries APIs, stores and analyses data. Experience with PHP, cloud data storage and analysis (e.g. Google BigQuery), MySQL and website crawling and data extraction preferred.
     
  • Strong experience with front-end development: HTML5, CSS, Javascript including jQuery, and deploying/troubleshooting tracking technologies such as Google Analytics.
     
  • Passion and drive to learn new skills, both structured training and self-development
     
  • Good design and UX principles a benefit
     
  • Ability to liaise with both internal teams and client resources to deliver effective campaigns.
